Description

Most fish don't die from bad care. They die from water problems you can't see. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH are all invisible and are the leading cause of fish death in home aquariums.

The BREEF Aquarium Test Strips give you a clear snapshot of everything going on in your water in 30 seconds so you always know your fish are safe. Dip the strip, hold it flat, read the result. Seven parameters tested at once. Colors that are easy to match. Results you can actually trust.

Each bottle comes with 50 strips (enough for a full year of weekly testing, or daily monitoring when you need it most).

What's In The Box

📦 BREEF Aquarium Test Strips × 50

📦 Full color reference chart printed on every bottle

📦 Step-by-step instruction guide

How To Use

1. Dip the reaction area of the strip into your tank water for 1 to 2 seconds

2. Remove the strip and hold it flat (do not shake off the excess water)

3. Wait 30 seconds then compare the color pads to the chart on the bottle

4. Read within 60 seconds for the most accurate result

Important: Do not touch the reaction pads when removing a strip from the bottle. Always seal the bottle immediately after use. After removing the required number of strips, keep the remaining strips sealed and away from light. If the water being tested is turbid, let it settle first and take the clear part for testing.

What Each Parameter Means For Your Tank

Nitrate builds up silently over time and shortens fish lifespan even without visible symptoms. Keep below 20ppm for healthy fish. High readings mean it's time for a water change.

Nitrite is toxic above 0.5ppm. A nitrite spike means your tank cycle is in trouble and your fish are at risk. Act immediately.

Carbonate and Alkalinity stabilise your pH and protect against sudden crashes. Low carbonate hardness means your pH can swing dangerously without warning.

pH affects how toxic ammonia is and whether your fish can breathe properly. Most freshwater fish need 6.5 to 7.5. Reef tanks need 8.1 to 8.4.

Hardness affects how toxic nitrate is and whether your fish can absorb the minerals they need. Different fish need different hardness levels.

Total Chlorine — tap water chlorine is toxic to fish. This tells you if your water conditioner is doing its job after a water change.

Free Chlorine is the active form of chlorine that directly damages fish gills. Should read zero in a properly conditioned tank.

I tested my water three times and still had no idea if my fish were safe. I couldn't trust the strips I was using to give me accurate results. Then I found BREEF and for the first time I actually got a clear snapshot of what was going on in my tank. I wish I had found these earlier.
